Instead of waiting around for motivation to show up, decide the exact trigger in advance: if it’s 9am and I’m sitting down at my desk, then I open the file and write the first sentence. Locking in the when and where ahead of time removes the exact moment where procrastination usually wins the argument.
Commit to just two minutes.
When a task feels overwhelming, stop looking at the entire thing. Agree to give it two minutes, nothing more.
Open the file. Write a single line. Fold one shirt. The point isn’t finishing; it’s generating enough momentum to keep moving. Once you’re actually in motion, that momentum tends to carry you further than expected.
Attach the boring task to something you actually want.

Set a timer, silence your notifications, and work until it goes off, then take a brief break before the next round. You’re never committing to finishing the whole thing in one sitting. You’re only committing to one focused stretch.
